tax and european union

as we have to select tax for european union countries it would be great if we could chosse special countries in the tax section in admin area. at this time you can only choose usa canada and all other countries. or can i solöve this within paypal account ?

I need this option as well, otherwise I can't invoice my customers properly.

A VAT (Value Added Tax) option per country is very important for those of us who are located in the EU, because we MUST comply with tax laws.

The invoice system of the script should also be able to differentiate between businesses and individuals.

The best solution would be:

- Allowing the customer to fill in a VAT number at registration (determines whether it's a business or not)
- List of all countries (not only USA/Canada/All countries)
- Separate option for international VAT-registered customers within the EU: "reverse charged VAT"

When will the script be updated, you reckon?

From a Canadian's point of view I would like to see where I could if in Canada apply GST 5% then PST or HST difference by province.

Makes one think it might be easier to make a way to add as many as we need and let the user select via a drop down or select menu their location trigger (state, province, country) if 2 variables could be set all the better. ie Is Country Canada if so then choose province, is Country USA if so then choose state if Country is EU then choose Country......

i am not sure if i did something wrong, but i tried new tax system and it dont work.
i added individual countries (european union counrties) to tax system.
but when i add new customer with one of these countries there are no tax shown in ordering process.

is there a step by step instruction how to make this work

i dont know what kind of different tax you have installed on demosite, but i signed up with austrian and united states as countrie and there is no difference in taxes.
