Display new items on home page?

I am using template 17. By default on the home page it shows the most downloaded items and you need to click the tab/link to show new items. I would like the newest items to show by default instead. Is there a setting to change this?

Also, I found in the admin where you can select the media type to shown in the newest, most downloaded, etc. tabs on the front page. However, it appears that you can only select one media type. I would like, for example, the new items to show new items in multiple areas (photos, videos, vectors). That is, if someone is looking at the new items, I want them to see all new items not just new photos. Is it possible to select multiple media types?

You should modify the template:
/templates/template[n]/home.tpl

and replace the code:

Code: Select all

zcomponent(18,'downloaded');

with:

Code: Select all

zcomponent(21,'new');

It is impossible to select all media types.
