Changing background color of search box ?

How can I change the background color of the search box on my photo shop.
The background color is dark grey and also the search window and I find it very hard to see. I want to make the colour brighter.

Can someone please help me !

I just did it and I think it looks really nice.
Do you know where the little gif is saved for the search symbol ?
Id like to change that to the other colour like the search box.
I dont seem to be able to select it and find the link ?
