how can I stretch thumbnails page to Full Width

How can I display my thumbnail images in Full Width including the search box on left? Currently, if I remove the left side search box (display) in the settings, I get more thumbnails but lose the advanced search. How can I keep all displayed but widen the view to full width like the header and footer ? Currently using lite version 16.07. I found this instruction in a post called "Fluid Template"

but I think it is outdated as I could not locate the lines in
/members/content_list.php
