Social Login - security and abuse?

Postby pepperstreet » Wed Jul 17, 2013 3:49 pm

Hello, just curious about security and abuse of social login. For instance:

What happens if someone use social login on a "public" computer i.e. internet cafe or friend's computer. Is something stored in the browser or system cache etc. So, another person may hit social login button and is granted access?!

The user must be logged in Facebook/Twitter to be authorized on the site.

if you forget to logout Facebook in Internet cafe - yes it will be a problem for your facebook account and for your personal information in Facebook. But it is not a problem of the script.

Yes, makes sense. Maybe I forgot to logout once during my tests on your demo site. I wondered about the fast redirection/login. Thanks for your confirmation.

Maybe a good idea to advice people to logout on each platform, if they have decided to use a social login?! Maybe an alert or text hint above their profile page?
