Bulk Upload problems

Postby yaschan79 » Thu Aug 18, 2011 6:39 pm

After bulk uploading files to the site (and 'giving' them to contributor X) I think files should be placed in the contributor X's upload queue. Currently they skip the contributor's queue and go directly into the catalog.

If I upload files this way, they cannot have "pending" status and there's no way to reject them either.

It would be great increase in usability if bulk upload would put photos into the contributor's upload queue to be handled by curators.

This would in effect allow FTP uploads to be used by contributors. All it would need is a shell script to move files from user upload folders to the site periodically.

But Current bulk upload method actually poses another kind of more serious trouble.

After files are uploaded and handed over to contributor X, if he edits them, files seem to become unpublished.

It's total chaos to go through every photo and make sure that they are published because it's not indicated anywhere.

Please advice if there's any way to change files into "published" status en masse.

If you upload files as admin all of them are approved by default.
You can edit the file:

/admin/bulk_upload/photo_upload.php

line 68:

and change

Code: Select all
$pub_vars["published"]=1;

to

Code: Select all
$pub_vars["published"]=0;
